Boobs & Balls Football Match

SPORT and TV personalities got their kit on for testicular and breast cancer charities.

Actor Sean Michael Verey, chef Dean Edwards, weatherman Alex Beresford and radio presenter Paris Troy joined boxer Glenn Catley and darts players Mark Dudbridge and Steve Brown for the Boobs and Balls charity football match last night.

Former Bristol City players Scott Murray, Alex Russell and Colin Cramb were also involved alongside Rovers’ Billy Clarke.

The match was organised by Mark Jakeways of Kicking Out for Kids, who has a history of organising charity matches.

He said the match at Hallen Football Club was part of a new push to support local breast cancer charity Bust, which raises money for the breast cancer unit at Southmead Hospital and It’s in the Bag, which supports testicular cancer patients at Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre.

Mr Jakeways said: “A few of the players mentioned that they knew of people who had had testicular or breast cancer and would like to do something to support charities for them.

“This is a year-long campaign we are doing under the name Boobs and Balls, and we are trying to do as many events as we can.

“We want to get events where we can have men vs women, such as darts and skittles and pub quizzes.”
