Bristol Balloon Fiesta

his year It’s in the Bag made their first appearance at the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta doing what we do best and telling everyone all about checking balls!

Our big event on the pitch was the Steven Gait 1,000 mile cycle challenge – one of our patients who is physically unable to participate in a challenge of this nature put up £1,000 if we could get members of the public to cycle the grand total of 1,000 miles over the four days! Four bikes (including a tandem!) were set up on rollers and we invited people of all ages to jump on and cycle as many miles as they could muster to help us towards the target with all participants earning themselves a free wristband! For those who managed 15 miles we gave them a free awareness t-shirt – we were pleasantly surprised at the uptake of this challenge and the great Bristol public managed to complete the 1,000 miles in just three days! The cycling challenge was undertaken in association with the amazing Fox Cyclingteam who were on the pitch with us for most of the event and provided two of the bikes so a massive thanks to them – this wouldn’t have been possible without them.

Also on our pitch was our fun game ‘Guess how many sweets in our fish tank’ which gave the chance of winning a pair of tickets to our 5th Testicular Ball. The lucky winner of this was Kelly Blackwell who is looking forward to joining us on the night of September 6th!

We would like to thank each and every one of you who stopped by the stand and took the time to speak and engage with us and we hope that we encouraged plenty of ball checking when you all got home! Click here to see all our photos from the event.
