Who are we?

It’s in the Bag are the only Testicular Cancer charity in the South West — supporting men and families, raising life‑saving awareness, and celebrating survival through opportunities to give back, like fundraising and volunteering.

We keep things simple: Support when it’s needed most, Awareness that starts conversations, and Survival through action.

Our mission is to make checking normal, information accessible, and no man facing testicular cancer feel alone.

We do all of this with humour, honesty, and empathy — because talking about balls shouldn’t be awkward, and getting help shouldn’t be hard.

Support

A diagnosis of testicular cancer can feel overwhelming — but you’re not alone. It’s in the Bag supports men and families across the South West when they need it most, offering clear information, practical help, and a community that understands.

Our support covers information, emotional reassurance, practical help, and financial assistance, so men and families have what they need at diagnosis, during treatment, and as they adjust afterwards. Whether it’s clear guidance, someone to talk to, help getting to appointments, or support through treatment and beyond, we’re here when it matters most.

We’re here from diagnosis to recovery — and beyond.

Awareness

Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in men aged 15 to 45 — yet for many young and middle‑aged men, it’s not even on their radar. Over 2,400 men are diagnosed each year in the UK, but with a cure rate of over 96%, early detection makes a huge difference and often means less treatment. The challenge is that many men feel awkward talking about their balls or going to the GP, so symptoms can be missed or ignored.

Checking takes less than a minute, and getting to know what’s normal for you can save your life. That’s why we use cheeky, honest messaging — not to make light of cancer, but to break the silence, grab attention, and make these conversations feel normal. When something doesn’t feel right, speaking to a GP is the best next step.

Survival

All charities need volunteers, and It’s in the Bag is no different — we simply couldn’t exist without them.

Our work is made possible by the passion, energy and lived experience of people who want to give something back. Whether it’s fundraising, volunteering at events, sharing their story, or helping behind the scenes, survivors and supporters play a vital role in keeping our mission moving.

It's in the volunteering...

All charity organisations need volunteers, and It’s in the Bag is no different — we simply couldn’t exist without them. Our projects are only possible thanks to the passion and dedication of people like you.

We want you to have a ball while doing something positive for men’s health. Whether you have a little time or a lot, you can make a real difference. You might help run an awareness stall at a festival or fair, support us at Test Fest, get involved in fundraising, or lend a hand behind the scenes — whatever you choose, you’ll be part of something that genuinely helps save lives.
